Empec Empresa de Estudos e Construções, Lda , was set up in Portugal in 1959 with the objective of continuing the activities that the Swiss company, Conrad Zschokke, had begun in Portugal years before with the execution of the Castelo do Bode, Cabril and Cambambe ( Angola ) dams.
In the course of the years, and benefiting from the technical support given by the Swiss company, Empec gradually created and developed a highly qualified technical team, not only as far its own study and project work are concerned, but also for support and guidance of the activities on its construction sites that were set up in all regions of Portugal and even abroad.
